Maximize Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

IPC’s SIP-enhanced network services for voice and electronic trading work together with our IQ/MAX® trader desktops and core Alliance MX systems infrastructure so that even when real-world events get in the way, your trading communications infrastructure is there for you. IPC® products and services provide multiple Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) approaches and options. Our Professional Services teams can help you create the bespoke plan that best matches your needs.

BCPMany Paths to Maximum BCP/DR
IPC’s Trading Systems support thin-building and dual-data-center architectures, enabling you to locate backroom facilities far away from front-room trading operations, or to share support for the front room among multiple geographically dispersed data centers. We provide software tools that synchronize trader desktop configurations in multiple sites so that traders can log on from any turret in the enterprise. Our SIP-enabled infrastructure tools allow lines coming into any enterprise site to be virtualized and shared among all enterprise sites. Our soft-turret solution lets traders use their turret’s functionality without any front room at all. Even our SIP-enabled network services can deliver a single voice private line to multiple locations simultaneously.

Thin Building
Thin-building architecture is a BCP/DR approach that allows the backroom communications infrastructure to be located far away from the building that houses traders – rendering the front room building “thin.” Market participants pursue thin-building architecture to enhance BCP/DR, to locate in a lower-cost area, or both. All critical IPC Trading Systems components support thin-building architecture, from the IQ/MAX turret to the Alliance MX, EASe and Nexus Suite™ elements mentioned elsewhere on this page.

  • EASe

IPC’s Enterprise Administration Server (EASe) enhances BCP/DR by synchronizing trader desktop configurations and translating those configurations to match available resources at any enterprise site in which the trader logs on. With EASe, BCP/DR can be comprehensive yet cost effective: EASe utilizes all available system resources, instead of relying on idle standby resources.

  • Nexus Suite

Nexus Suite uses Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to share Alliance MX private lines with enterprise PBX users, and PBX lines and functionality with Alliance MX users. In addition, Nexus Suite enables the sharing of both types of lines among multiple geographically dispersed enterprise sites. As an added bonus, Nexus Suite’s SIP technology lets trading firms create such multi-site line sharing at lower cost than older technologies.

  • Alliance MX

Alliance MX’s “mesh” switching architecture creates the resiliency and reliability on which our financial markets customers depend for the heart of their BCP/DR strategy. At the same time, Alliance MX’s integrated support for IP standards, replicated databases, and network management tools creates a services-oriented architecture for enterprise applications that provides unparalleled support for BCP/DR.

  • MAXaccess 1000

MAXaccess 1000® is an ideal tool for BCP/DR and transparent customer service because it lets traders access nearly all the functions of their home-office turret from any location in the world that has a PC, a broadband Internet connection, and a phone – even a mobile phone. Traders can reach customers and counterparties from remote locations such as home, branch offices and hotel rooms.

  • Enhanced Voice Services

EVS enables you to make and receive calls from multiple locations seamlessly so you can conduct business without interruption or delay, even in a compromised situation. EVS provides critical network connectivity to multiple locations simultaneously without manual intervention; it enables 100% access to critical counterparties.
