Hoot & Intercom
Hoot and Intercom are dedicated "always on" connections allowing for one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many communications to ensure traders and non-traders can share information, get market updates and discuss details on trading orders. The Unigy Platform provides unique Hoot and Intercom solutions designed to include all users within the trade workflow.
Unigy offers devices and applications that are integrated with the platform in a single-vendor solution for users with a variety of different collaboration needs:
- Turrets for traders: IQ/MAX, IQ/MAX Edge and IQ/MAX Omni help meet the wide array of needs for all traders to communicate across the global trading floor and enterprise quickly and efficiently.
- Platform edge devices for portfolio managers, analysts and compliance: the IQ/MAX Edge and IQ/MAX Omni provide non-traders with essential tools and features to maximize their workflow and achieve a higher level of connectivity to improve speed, accuracy, and transparency across the trade lifecycle.
Intercom devices for research and reconciliation, and other non-traders: the Pulse Enterprise provides enhanced business insight, trade workflow and maximum connectivity to all within the enterprise.

- A soft-phone device for remote users: the IQ/MAX Omni provides the ability to for any enterprise user to work remotely from an alternate location and facilitates business continuity in the event of unplanned interruptions. Client support teams can now be located on the customer premise and still have complete connectivity to the entire trading enterprise. Research and analyst teams can be scattered globally to support the global trading day, or they can work from an alternate location if access to their primary location is lost due to weather conditions, pandemic outbreak, building outage, or other unforeseen scenarios.
- Pulse Enterprise for collaboration: developed for non-traders to provide access to hoots, intercom and speakers. The Pulse Enterprise has been designed to meet the constant need for collaboration between traders and non-traders and across the trade lifecycle.
- Pulse for Lync for integrated collaboration: integrated with Microsoft’s Office Communicator – now called Microsoft Lync – to allow presence aggregation and sharing of contact information between Unigy and the Microsoft Lync Server. Both users of IQ/MAX turrets and Pulse Enterprise will be able to take advantage of IQ/MAX Sync features; they will benefits directly through the Lync client that is already on their PC today, allowing for full control of their Unigy turret or soft-client through their Lync client.
All of these endpoints reside on the same platform, allowing for easy management and administration of the platform. This helps manage specific compliance initiatives through a single management system, since compliance teams must have instant seamless access to all engaged in the trade process.
