Maximum Enterprise Collaboration with Nexus Suite
Nexus Suite™ leverages Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) technology to provide trading system infrastructure that empowers enterprise resource sharing and collaboration between traders and other experts within the company.
Today, Nexus Suite enables integration of those enterprise resources with an Alliance MX-based trading system, immediately creating cost advantages and supporting collaboration between traders and middle- and back-office experts. From a strategic point of view, Nexus Suite provides a platform for the ongoing development of collaborative applications that integrate business information with IPC’s trading communications systems, enhancing trader productivity and effectiveness.
Nexus Enterprise Reach
When Nexus Enterprise Reach is added to your Alliance MX system, any incoming line, including private lines, can be shared between traders’ turrets and a SIP-enabled PBX. This means that middle- and back-office PBX phone users, such as a research analyst or compliance expert, can share traders’ line appearances and can instantly join – or “barge in” – a trader’s call in progress to help a pending transaction move forward. Nexus Enterprise Reach is a cost-effective way to enable enterprise resources who are not equipped with turrets to have access to turret resources whenever necessary.
With Nexus Enterprise Reach, collaboration is enabled and productivity is enhanced within an enterprise location.
Nexus Enterprise Lines
With Nexus Enterprise Lines, sharing of Alliance MX lines is extended to multiple enterprise locations. Nexus Enterprise Lines enables any line coming into any enterprise site to be virtualized and shared throughout all enterprise sites. Nexus Enterprise Lines enables a trader to get the right specialist on the line no matter where that specialist sits in the enterprise or in the world.
Nexus’ SIP technology lets trading firms create such multi-site line sharing at lower cost than older technologies. With Nexus Enterprise Lines, a firm need only connect each switch to their existing IP-based wide-area network.
Nexus System Interconnect
Nexus System Interconnect extends resources
from a SIP-enabled PBX
to Alliance MX-attached turrets. SIP-enabled PBXs provide Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), or “dial-tone” lines to turret users, along with PBX-based capabilities such as voice mail. Nexus System Interconnect enhances
Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) capability by supporting dial tone line forking between multiple Alliance switches, which is advantageous in dual data center architectures.
Maximum Value with SIP
Using SIP in place of QSIG, which provides TDM systems with capabilities similar to (but less than) Nexus Suite, enhances productivity and cuts costs. Cost of ownership is reduced because SIP infrastructure can be shared. The same Nexus Enterprise Server and SIPX card can provide all three of the Nexus applications described above (a second Nexus server and multiple SIPX cards may be necessary depending on resiliency considerations or the scale of your enterprise requirements). In addition, connectivity costs can be reduced even as resiliency and scalability are enhanced.
The SIP-Enabled Unified Communications Vision
The vision of productivity-enhancing collaborative communications offered by a future of SIP-enabled integrated applications offers opportunities even more powerful than lowering cost. SIP plays a crucial role in this next phase of unified communications because it supports voice, data and video streams equally well, and can combine these with presence information.
Today, finding the right analyst to answer a particular customer’s question can be a dauntingly complex process. Using SIP-enabled collaborative communication applications, however, it can be as simple as calling a network-based service that uses a combination of presence, financial customer information and business rules to locate the best person across any mode of communication – and ensure that person is currently available.
Nexus Suite provides a comprehensive set of SIP services that form the foundation for that future vision.
